Job DescriptionThe
Business Development Manager will supply growth and profit to
OLM Foods Solutions by opening new franchised/licensed/frozen brand locations. They will focus on soliciting and opening new stores that meet OLM business criteria in the assigned territory through follow-up on leads provided by OLM Food Solutions developing prospects through travel, face-to-face meetings, and telephone contacts with store decision-makers.
Essential Job Functions- Manage multi-unit franchise, license, and frozen sales opportunities by researching and contacting new customer opportunities, and developing a food program partnership with OLM Food Solutions to exceed sales goals
- Understand all OLM Food Solutions product/program offerings including business position and competitor analysis
- Create customer sales presentations and clearly communicate program and contract details
- Travels throughout assigned territory conducting cold calls and following up on leads provided.
- Execute contract/purchase negotiations and agreements for franchise/license/frozen brand locations following company policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop and communicate volume forecasts, sales plans, and programs while tracking and adhering to spending budgets
- Manage new store opening processes including timelines by partnering and communicating cross-functionally to efficiently open new opportunity locations.
- Prioritize and track weekly activities and opportunities in the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
Required Qualifications• Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: 5 years of wholesale or sales experience in the food program or QSR (quick service) industry is required.
• Must have a business/financial understanding of fast food and/or convenience stores.
• Must be hands-on and pragmatic, with business sense.
• Must have exceptional personal/human relationship skills.
• Must be energetic, self-motivated, and have a success-oriented personality.
• Must have a business/financial understanding of food concepts.
• Individuals must be able to drive and maintain a current/active driver's license. A driver's license must meet the company's driver expectation point standards. All company drivers have their MVR checked every 6 months for compliance.
• Communication/Language Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Professional presentation and negotiation skills.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as ROI (Return on Investment), interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, mileage, and volume.
• Technical Competencies: Proficient with Microsoft office suite-word/excel (intermediate skills) along with Databases, ACT, or other Database Software preferred. Knowledge of web-based presentation tools is preferred.
