Position Summary:The Manager, Accounting will focus on providing oversight and direction to the Operations and Earned Income Accounting teams, ensuring that all company transactions are properly reflected in the General Ledger on a timely basis in accordance with GAAP. The Accounting Manager will also ensure that SOX controls and reporting requirements placed on a public company are properly executed. The Senior Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Operation and Earned Income Accounting, with visibility opportunities to several other members of upper management in the company. This position will work as a business partner with individuals company-wide, while also setting up individuals on their team for success and long-term growth within Core-Mark and Performance Food Group.
Responsibilities:- Oversee the Operation Accounting team to ensure that the General Ledger transactions are properly reflected for all Core-Mark locations across the US and Canada
- Collaborate with Finance Directors across the organization on standardization opportunities and any ad-hoc items that would allow more efficient process
- Collaborate with Category Managers and other Marketing members within the organization to ensure that earned income opportunities are being captured and maintained properly
- Review and approve General Ledger journal entries during the month-end close.
- Review and approve monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations by confirming that all account details are current and up to audit requirements.
- Communicate any material items to the appropriate business partners in the company in a timely manner.
- Help lead internal process improvements for the team and other members of the organization as it related to both GL and Earned Income processes.
- Responsible for accurate and timely internal reporting during the month-end close process to include assessment of financial risks and opportunities.
- Oversee variance analysis requests from the reporting teams as compared to last year, year-end and prior quarter for assigned areas on the financial statements.
- Support external and internal audit requests when necessary.
- Oversee ad-hoc analysis performed by the reporting teams as needed to support the Operation Leads, Finance Directors, Category Managers, OpCo Presidents, Regional VPs, etc.

Required Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Business with a major in accounting
• 4-6 years of relevant accounting, reporting and month-end close experience, with at least 2 years of managerial experience
• Prior Supervisor/Managerr experience required
• Good working knowledge of GAAP as it relates to General Ledger accounting
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft programs
Preferred Qualifications• Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Working knowledge of SAP and/or BlackLine is a plus
