Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Fixed Asset and Property Tax, the Fixed Asset and Property Tax Analyst will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the property tax cycle including, but not limited to: accounting for tax fixed assets; reconciling fixed assets between PTMS and BNA (our tax fixed asset management software), preparing timely and accurate personal property tax returns; providing audit support, bill payment and notice resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience in fixed asset management and property tax, with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, and strong communication skills.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Support the maintenance of detailed fixed asset records in the BNA fixed asset software
  • Reconcile and analyze fixed assets to GAAP asset records
  • Prepare and file 200+ annual personal property tax renditions
  • Support Manager with any real property tax reporting and payments
  • Review property tax assessments for reasonableness, defend filing positions, and prepare for payment
  • Work with operating personnel to prepare property tax budgets
  • Maintain tax calendar and filing requirements in PTMS
  • Support management in state and local audits with information gathering, data analysis and implementation of system changes with respect to audit findings
  • Document department processes and identify any opportunities for process improvement
  • Research and interpret relevant property tax law, as needed
  • Interact with other members of the Finance department and accounting personnel at the operating facilities
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• 2-4 years' experience with fixed asset accounting and property tax
• Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects in a changing environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Bloomberg BNA, fixed asset management software
• Experience with CSC PTMS, property tax management software
