Position Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing the corporate accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. This role plays a critical part in the month-end and year-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
The Senior Manager will lead a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance on technical accounting matters, improving efficiencies in financial processes, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements such as GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance. They will also support external audits, tax filings, and financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making.
This position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of corporate accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial reporting, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while driving continuous improvements in accounting operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department including, vendor promotional accounting, fixed assets, payroll, intercompany, etc.
  • Ensure that all standard monthly entries (200+) are properly created and posted
  • Schedule and oversee the 3-day general ledger closing process each month.
  • Responsible for maintaining the SAP accounting system including chart of accounts maintenance and executing various daily/monthly SAP tasks such as costing runs, depreciation and opening/closing of periods for the various Finance functions.
  • Development and maintenance of account analysis/reconciliation process. Ensures that all account analysis/reconciliation procedures comply with GAAP
  • Monthly review of financial results and variance analysis as compared to plan and prior year along with resolution of all outstanding issues.
  • Co-manage the year-end external audit and annual bank audit including the review and preparation of audit workpapers
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within the SAP application and within the department to reduce the length of the closing process
  • Ad-hoc analysis requests from senior management as needed.
  • Supervision and development of professional staff.

Required Qualifications
• \tBachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
• \tMinimum of 5 years of corporate accounting experience
• \tMinimum of 3 years management experience with a proven ability to effectively motivate and lead a successful team
• \tAdvanced Excel skills required
Preferred Qualifications
• \tExperience with major integrated ERP solution (SAP preferred)
• \tPrivate industry experience with manufacturing or distribution companies. Large CPG company experience with high transaction volume is a plus (revenues greater than $500 million)
