BASIC FUNCTION:
The Valet Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas. The Yard Driver will transport tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities requiring local city driving. All driving is expected to be completed safely in accordance with all Company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor (removing pallets, sweeping)
  • Returning supplies (check in straps, blankets, ice cream bags, etc.)
  • Remove returns from trailer using a manual pallet jack
  • Communicate with the garage if the trailer needs cleaning on the yard or taken to the shop to be cleaned
  • Place the tractor/trailer in parking lot once responsibilities are complete
  • Each morning, handle the same responsibilities for the trailers left during the night
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
6-12 months of tractor trailer experience
Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months experience with good performance record and in accordance with driver training program requirements where applicable
Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
Pass pre-employment drug test
Preferred Qualifications
Class A CDL preferred
Foodservice distribution industry experience
