The Safety Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing and/or administering environmental, fleet safety and occupational health and safety programs to ensure applicable legal compliance and create and maintain a safe and secure working environment. Also responsible for facility security and disaster preparedness planning and effective management of claims (e.g. property and casualty - workers' compensation, auto liability and physical damage, and products/general liability). Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.Responsibilities:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with 2 years of higher education or equivalent work experience• 1 to 3 years administrative experience with strong administrative and organization skills; detail oriented• Intermediate level experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint• Ability to implement Safety plans and conduct safety training• Ability to analyze and critically evaluate situations• Ability to communicate verbally and/or through written communication with all levels of personnel within the company• Ability to organize daily tasks and to work in a self-directed environment with minimal supervision• Proven ability to effectively manage WCB claims• Knowledge of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act• Completion of an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate program (such as an CRSP designation), or working towardsPreferred qualifications:
