The Transportation Training Supervisor is responsible for job specific training for the transportation department at Core-Mark International Distribution Center. The Supervisor will ensure all hires are fully and properly trained on the department's equipment, SOP's, and KPI's prior to the associates release to their assigned role and supervisor.
Additionally the supervisor will identify, develop, implement, and monitor training needs in the organization, partner with the training associates, quality control and management team to plan, design, and implement training programs/procedures to educate associates.
Lastly the Supervisor will lead training programs to optimize comprehension, foster career opportunities, and the team's engagement and experience. The Training Supervisor determines and escalates any roadblocks in the training program to their director report.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
People, Onboarding and Training Supervision
  • Oversees training of all new hires for 8 weeks and tenured transportation employees quarterly
  • Organize, direct and coach direct reports in their development and continued improvement of transporation operations
  • Conduct performance reviews when required
  • Required to deliver routes if support is needed
  • Required to ride/observe new hires 3 days a week
  • Required to observe local, 2 day and 3 day route trainees and tenured drivers
  • Establish work priorities, delegate work to direct supports, and ensure deadlines are met and procedures are followed
Ongoing Responsibilities
  • Oversee efficient operations of transportation experience
  • Develops, implements and monitors standard new hire transportation procedures
  • Monitors driver/driver helper employee productivity/quality in accordance with the standards developed by the operations group
  • Develops and implements action plans (e.g. facility/equipment improvements) designed to improve transportation employee productivity/quality
  • Determines transportation personnel and equipment requirements by evaluating transportation activities, projected volumes, customer base, routes, cubes, stops and product mixes, in accordance with productivity standards
Required Qualifications
• Skills: Proven background and experience training associates and have a class A driver's license.
• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience a/o training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language: Ability to read, print, and speak simple sentences. Recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers. Must be able to read product codes and information quickly and accurately.
• Mathematical: Ability to add/subtract 2-digit numbers and multiply/divide 10's and 100's.
• Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Must be able to recognize malfunctions in equipment and notify supervisors.

The employee must regularly lift a/o move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift a/o move 25 lbs., and occasionally lift a/o move up to 60 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years foodservice distribution industry experience
