  • Position Summary
The Analyst, Pricing & Margin is a key contributor to protecting and expanding margin across a complex, high-volume, broadline foodservice distribution business. This role sits at the intersection of pricing execution, cost volatility management, and margin visibility-supporting thousands of SKUs across center-of-plate (COP), dry grocery, frozen, dairy, produce, and non-food categories.
You'll partner closely with Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Operations to ensure pricing decisions accurately reflect vendor costs, freight and fuel impacts, rebate structures, and service-level economics-while remaining competitive in a highly price-sensitive market.
This is a highly analytical, technically focused role requiring the ability to work with large, complex datasets across multiple systems. You'll develop KPIs, build reporting tools, and deliver insights that directly influence pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and overall profitability.

    What You'll Do
    Pricing & Margin Execution
  • Analyze and maintain customer-specific and tiered pricing across a broad SKU portfolio
  • Support rapid price updates driven by vendor cost changes, commodity volatility, and freight/fuel surcharges
  • Ensure pricing execution aligns with margin targets, category strategy, and competitive benchmarks
  • Assist with pricing for new item introductions, substitutions, and brand expansion initiatives
  • Provide pricing guidance and deal analysis for contract bids, renewals, and large customer negotiations
  • Margin Analysis & Profitability Insights
  • Monitor gross margin performance by customer, SKU, category, and sales channel
  • Identify margin leakage related to cost lag, discounting, spoilage, freight, and service intensity
  • Conduct route-level and customer-level profitability analysis in a delivery-driven cost structure
  • Support margin recovery initiatives and continuous pricing improvement efforts
  • Deliver actionable insights to Sales, Finance, Procurement, and Senior Leadership
  • Rebates, Incentives & Compliance
  • Serve as Administrator for Local Earned Income (LEI) using Vistex
  • Track, reconcile, and validate vendor rebates, bill-backs, and incentive programs
  • Partner with Procurement and Finance to ensure rebate assumptions are accurately reflected in pricing and margin reporting
  • Analyze vendor program ROI and recommend improvements to maximize profitability
  • Data, Reporting & Analytics
  • Develop, track, and report key performance and compliance metrics to improve customer margin
  • Define and maintain data management standards to ensure consistent, accurate analysis across:
    • Profit & Loss
    • Pricing accuracy
    • Rebate and incentive tracking
    • Line-item cross-references
    • Compliance reporting
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and documentation using internal databases
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Learn new data structures and contribute to the design of reporting tables
  • Help drive pricing discipline and consistency across the Sales organization
