Job Description:

Position Details:

  • Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday - No Weekends
  • Start Time: 6:45am until finish (usually until around 4:30pm)
  • Pay Rate: From $20.00 per hour and up based on experience
  • Work Location: 3875 Bengert St., Orlando, FL 32808

Position Purpose:
Processes, cuts, and packs meat products using hand tools and machines to meet order specifications. Follows safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Major Functional Responsibilities:
  • Process/Cut & pack meat products to order schedule specifications either by hand or by various machines in production line.
  • Cut, trim, bone, or grind meats (beef, pork and/or lamb) to various cut and trim specifications
  • Preferred experience & ability to use Meat Saw/Band Saw
  • Sharpen and adjust cutting/processing equipment. Start-up and shut down equipment.
  • Receive and inspect meat. Maintain proper stock levels on production line.
  • Identify various product forms by sight and pack each product according to specifications (type of product, boxes, labels, etc.)
  • Adhere to all company SOPs, GMPs, USDA, SQF procedures, etc. and work consistently with all food safety, quality and sanitation requirements
  • Perform all other duties as assigned that are necessary, required or directed by management.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and common areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience: 1 + years of meat cutting experience, butcher experience or Culinary/knife skills or bandsaw experience.
Skills:
Able to work in refrigerated environments, approx.. 40F
Able to perform heavy lifting i.e. opening cases of meat & lifting to stage lugs of meat to prepare processing line.
Ability to perform repeated tasks with attention to detail.
Willing to perform all tasks when and where assigned and as changing situations arise.
Ability to understand to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to perform basic math skills

Preferred qualifications:

Preference given to food production or processing facility experience.
Preference for experience in meat cutting environment such as commercial processing facility or retail meat processing or restaurant meat processing
1 year experience in fast-paced working environments preferred , this includes line work in food production, food manufacturing, line cook, assembly lines, etc.
Able work in cold environment
1 year experience meat saw/bandsaw is advantageous
Familiarity in SQF, USDA and/or HACCP environment preferred
Spanish speaking or Bi-lingual Spanish-English
