Job Summary:

The Production Mixer assists in the rebagging production facility where candy, nuts, snacks, and related products are prepared, processed, packaged, stored, and/or shipped. Primary duties include accurately weighing, measuring, preparing, mixing, seasoning, and processing ingredients and packaged goods according to production formulas, customer orders, and product specifications. The Production Mixer is responsible for operating mixing and blending equipment, maintaining product quality and consistency, and completing all required production documentation and daily paperwork.

This position is responsible for following all safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation, and quality standards in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Production Mixer helps maintain an efficient flow of product throughout the production process, supports production schedules, and assists with changeovers, sanitation, and other production-related activities as needed.

Work schedules and assignments may vary based on production demands and customer requirements. The position functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Read and follow production schedules, formulas, recipes, batch sheets, customer orders, and product specifications.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, stage, mix, and process ingredients for production runs.
  • Operate mixing, blending, packaging, and related production equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor mixing times, ingredient additions, and product quality to ensure consistency and compliance with specifications.
  • Package candy, nuts, trail mixes, and related products into customer-required and sellable bag configurations.
  • Prepare, process, package, label, seal, and palletize finished products for storage and shipment.
  • Verify ingredient lot numbers, maintain accurate production records, and complete all required daily production paperwork, batch records, quality checks, HACCP, SQF, and other documentation accurately and timely.
  • Review production schedules, perform equipment safety checks, obtain required supplies, and prepare work areas to ensure efficient operations.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure quality and specification compliance.
  • Assemble boxes, pack products, label and seal containers, and stack completed cases on pallets for shipping.
  • Open product cases, rotate inventory based on established procedures, and inspect product inventory as needed.
  • Perform equipment setup, adjustments, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Complete assigned cleaning and sanitation activities before, during, and after production runs and work shifts.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, quality, sanitation, HACCP, SQF, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, quality deviations, or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Support other production areas and perform additional duties as assigned to meet business and customer needs.

Qualifications:

High School Diplomas/GED or Equivalent Experience
6 months - 1 year experience work on a production line in a manufacturing/warehouse environment

Preferred qualifications:

1 - 3 years experience work on a production line specific to food processing/food production experience with vertical form-filled bagging equipment
