Position Purpose:

The shipper in a warehouse is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments by verifying orders, packing items securely, and labeling packages. They often use inventory management systems to track shipments and maintain accurate records. Shippers also inspect goods for damage, ensure compliance with shipping regulations, and may assist in loading trucks. Their role is crucial in maintaining efficient logistics and ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate and prompt deliveries.

Primary Responsibilities:

Locate items in warehouse and prepare them for shipping.
Verify accuracy of assigned orders, ensuring correct product is being sent to the customers.
Record shortages and reject damaged goods.
File all end-of-day shipping documents.
Notify management if any discrepancies are found or products are unavailable.
Assist with creating and maintaining various reports.
Operate pallet jack and manually transport product.
Visually inspect products and labels.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

6 Months Experience on related job

Pass post Background Check and Drug testing

• Basic computer skills, especially for using inventory and shipping software

• Attention to detail for accurate order verification and labeling

• Organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and deadlines

• Communication skills to coordinate with team members

• Experience with forklifts or pallet jacks (sometimes preferred or required)

• Familiarity with shipping procedures and documentation (like bills of lading or packing slips)

Preferred qualifications:

1-2 years of warehouse and/or distribution work experience

Foodservice distribution or related industry experience

Pallet jack and/or forklift certified
