Job Description:

The Produce Specialist is responsible for working with the Category Manager in achieving produce sales growth objectives annually. Primary focus is growing the fresh produce category for our Independent foodservice customers. Responsibilities will include working with sales in the field to increase sales in produce in all active customers and prospects. Responsible for developing relationships with marketing and sales to ensure success of promotional programs.
  • Working closely with the VP, Procurement and Category Manager to develop and execute the overall produce category strategy aligned with company growth, margin, and service goals. Review inventory and trends information in all areas of produce. Review and provide feedback from sales and customers on product assortment.
  • Lead New Sales Produce Training, and Sales meeting training in collaboration with Category Managers, Marketing, and Sales Support team.
  • Support with field sales engagement with foodservice customer with samples, cuttings and integration of produce with 80% field work to achieve key metrics in produce category sales and margin goals for fiscal year. Support with business reviews (as needed).
Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Qualifications:

Bachelors in Business, or equivalent related experience
1 - 3 Years
Foodservice selling or broker experience .Strong attention to detail with good business acumen. High degree of organization along with ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Preferred qualifications:
